NaNu 2025

Pacific Sámi Searvi invites you to NaNu: Weaving Stories, Songs, and Sprits, a day of cultural sharing through story, craft, music, and community.

At the heart of the program is Elin Kåven, Sámi storyteller, joiker, and cultural bearer, alongside Misty Kalama Archer, Coast Salish weaver and artist. Misty will host interactive craft tables and guide a weaving session, while community members and other Indigenous voices share stories throughout the day.

This 2-day gathering will close with a panel and collaborative musical performance in celebration of living traditions. NaNu is a space where stories, songs, and spirits come together in community.

Saturday, October 18th | Intellectual House, University of Washington | 10:30am - 5:30pm

Location: 4249 Little Canoe Channel NE, Seattle, WA 98105

A morning coffee service will start the day off prior to the opening ceremony. Elin Kåven and Misty Kalama Archer will then lead the main events of weaving and crafting, with a catered lunch providing a break in-between. In the afternoon, other speakers will share their knowledge before a panel discussion and musical performance end the first day’s events.

Sunday, October 19th | Camp Long, Seattle | 12:00pm - 6:00pm

Location: 5200 35th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98105

A picnic-style BBQ lunch will be provided to attendees during this open-air event. Storytelling, joik, and other activities will take place throughout the day. Folks are encouraged to bring their own musical instruments to participate in weaving together our community spirit through songs and stories told by the fire.

Would you like to help volunteer?

Every year, NaNu has attracted more interest and grown in size as well as complexity. The Board Members can do a lot, but we can’t do it all! So we are asking for volunteers to help us out this year. Tasks may include setting up/taking down decorations, overseeing the refreshments, and picking up trash that may have escaped the bins.

Volunteers will have free admission to NaNu 2025, including food provided. If you are interested in volunteering, fill out this form and we will contact you if we are in need of more volunteers.
